Happy Anniversay to Us!

Today Jay and I celebrate 5 years of marriage! Holy cow! Man, how things have changed in 5 years! I want to share some of my favorite pictures from the weekend!

We got married in Columbus, MS my hometown. All of Jay's family flew in for the wedding and all my family and bestest friends were there. It was the PERFECT weekend!

On Friday, we rehersed and then had dinner at our favorite resturant - J. Broussards. We are lucky enough to be able to go back there tonight to celebrate! The church we got married in, St. Paul's Episcopal, was on the national register of historic places and was BEAUTIFUL! We were also blessed that a dear friend of mine, Rev. Dr. Bob Seney was a Episcopalian minister and was able to perform our ceremony.

The next morning when we woke up it was dreary outside, and then it began to rain. I was so distraught. First of all, I have curly hair and it DOES NOT fair well in the rain. I went to the hotel in the limo to pick up some of my bridesmaids and was crying in the lobby about it raining on my wedding day. I will never forget, my big burly brother-in-law, John grabbing me and telling me that it is okay for rain on your wedding day, because it means good luck! I guess that was all I needed to hear. That was the last care I remember having that day. Between my mom and all my sweet bridesmaids, all the minor details that could have driven me crazy didn't even make it to me!

This is my sweet niece Alexa, who worked very hard to make sure the aisle was covered in rose petals! I didn't see it live, but it was soooooo cute on the video.

Just Married!

Being a graduate of the W, we have a tradition that we sing this song Friends at each W girls wedding. As a true lover of all things tradition, this was soooo special to me, espcially since my friends initatied it. Usually I am the one to do it! I don't think there was a dry eye in the place!

Alright, that wraps up my wedding recap. I have to go get some things done while James is asleep! Oh my how the time flies!

Happy Anniversay Jay!

James is Six Weeks Old

Man, how time flies. James is six weeks old today! He is turning into such a cute little boy and more of his personality comes out everyday. I love to watch Jay interact with James. I thought Jay might be a little timid around him, but it is fun to watch his love and admiration grow everyday for James. He's been so great to let me go and do some things and he keeps James all by himself. Here are some pictures I want to share!

So, James on your six week birthday, you got your first bath in the big boy bathtub. Now, I could have given him one in this a long time ago, but was too lazy to dig the tub out I guess.

Here is a pic of James at 6 weeks and then at 1 week!

4 Weeks Old

Yesterday James was four weeks old! Wow, how time flies! I can't believe we have a son. We are so blessed to have a great little boy, who does sleep (sometimes) and is a pretty happy baby, minus the occassional gas. Here is what we have been up to lateley.

This weekend we got to meet Uncle Andy and Aunt Carly. We both traveled to Columbus to meet up. I am so SORRY Aunt Carly - I didn't get a single picture of you with James! I know Mom and Dad did, so I will get some off their camera this weekend.

Just James in his old man onesie. Give that boy a pocket protector!

Believe it or not, it was somewhat cool today and James had his first trip to shopping. We went to Babies R Us, Kohl's and Target! He slept the whole time! I think he's going to be a GREAT shopper! Tonight, because of all the rain, it was cool, realetively speaking of course, so we decided to go on a family walk. Excuse the blurriness of this pic. I thought I could walk and take it at the same time!

Last but not least, I could leave without sharing this pic. I was busy doing some things around the house and this is how I found my favorite boys! Aren't they adorable!

Tummy Time

The other day I was thinking! James loves to lay on his tummy on me, so I thought why not try it and let him do it on the floor. I needed to pump, so I brought him into the nursey and did some tummy time while I pumped! I would consider it a huge success!

James's First Fourth

Spur of the moment, Jay and I decided to head to my parent's house for the Fourth of July weekend. They are just over two hours away, so I felt like this would be a good first trip for James. He was fantastic! He slept the whole way there and the whole way back.

Traveling with a baby is defenitley different than traveling with just the two of us. We had never folded the pack and play up and that was a project in patience.

Normally, we spend the 4th of July with Jay's family. First, we would go to Vermont and now the family goes to Penslyvania. It's a tradition on the 4th for all of us to get dressed in our Old Navy flag shirts and take a large family picture. I hate we missed the larger picture, but we took our own picture, however, I was so focused on finding James a flag onsie that I forgot to get one for Jay and I! Ooops! None the less, here is our 4th of July family picture. Maybe we can photoshop us into the bigger group picture! :)

This weekend was also exciting for James because he got to meet his Granny (great grandmother). This was also very special for me, because I am very close to my Granny. We were able to get a 4 generation picture as well.

Give Away

I have decided to add links to blogs that I read regularly. When I am at work, I read blogs during my lunch break. I really enjoy getting lost in blog world and seeing what other people are doing. I get ideas, I enter contest, I keep up with friends and family. Another great thing is finding old friends blogs! I have managed to reconnect with many high school friends through their blogs!

One of those high school friends is Melanie Smith. She is doing a give away on her blog! You can check out her blog and enter for yourself. She is listed in my blogs I read daily to the right!

Stay tuned for pictures from James first road trip to Mimi and Grandpa's and his 4th of July!!!
