5 Months Old

James was 5 months old on Sunday and I just got the pictures taken last night.

James you are a great baby! Daddy and I are so in love with you! It seems like each day one of us says to the other - how much do you love this little guy?

You have been eating cereal for about a month now. You are up to three tablespoons. You are so eager to eat, most of the time you have your mouth open in anticipation of the next bite before I can get the cereal on the spoon. Just this week we have started adding vegetables to the regiment. Of course, we started with carrots and you love them. I started with just a little bit, to get you used to them and also to make sure you weren't allergic, but tonight you were begging for more!

However, you are not as good about drinking your bottle. For some reason, we can't you to always drink the 6 oz. that you should. I am hoping that it is just phase!

We weighed you unofficially on our scale and you were about 13.5 lbs. I am hoping by your 6 month appointment in December that you will be 15 lbs, because you will have doubled your birth weight.

When it comes to sleep, we are working on getting you to fall asleep on your own. It's so hard not to hold and love you as you fall asleep each night, but we know this is the best thing for you.

James - you are the light and love of our life! There is nothing we wouldn't do for you! Next month you are going to get to meet your cousins and I can't wait!

I am Thankful for...

for a weekend with no real commitments, but a few things! I can't believe that Thanksgiving is next week and I haven't blogged but about one thing this whole month!!!

I want to catch you up and share some picture with the grandmothers, aunts and cousins out there.

On Halloween we went to the Red Beans and Rice "cook off" held at Trustmark Park. It benefited Stewpot and we met up with some of friends. We dressed James up in his Halloween costume, to get some more wear out of it.

We even got "Uncle Jamie" to hold James.

The next week was Mistletoe Marketplace, which is the kickoff to the holiday season hosted by the Junior League of Jackson. James got to meet Santa for the first time!

I am Thankful for...

a wonderful work family. I really enjoy getting up and going to work everyday. They are like a second family to me. We laugh together, we cry together, we argue just like family. Here are some pictures from our Halloween get together this past Friday. I really enjoyed the fellowship and having most everyone there, which is a big deal in our office.

A Month of Thankfulness

In an effort to not skip right over the wonderful holiday of Thanksgiving and also to stop and really think about all the things I am thankful for, I am going to be featuring something everyday I am thankful for.

Some days it might just be a picture and these things are certainly in no particular order, as I would not want anyone or anything to think it's higher on my list than anything or anyone else.

So, bear with me as I feature something or someone everyday!
