Snake Petting

When we visited FL, we went to the Tallahassee Museum to see all the animals. During the interactive time, James was lucky enough to get to "pet" a snake. Thank goodness that Daddy is cool with doing things like that, because Mommy is NOT.

Our First BBQ Competition

One of my college roommate, Aimee and her husband, Ken came to town (well, Pelahatchie) this weekend for a BBQ competition. They have a serious trailer and this is very serious business! We had a great time out at Camp Jellystone and already looking forward to next year.

We got to meet Yogi Bear.

Deciding which chickens are best to present.

I told you this was serious business.

It took us both for keeping him from jumping in the lake!

He is My Child

James looks so much like Jay, sometimes I worry he's not my child :) However, the other day when we got home from school/work I went to the bathroom and James had gotten the cereal bars off the counter and had lined them up on the kitchen floor. I am sure he gets that organization from me! The best part was then he put them all back in the box! Good Job James!

Little Helper

This past weekend my parents came down to help us repaint our guest bedroom (which turned out so awesome)! After keeping James out for a while, he finally managed to get in the room and "help" out!

James is 11 months old!

James is 11 months old! Man, how time flies. Everyone tells you to enjoy those first few months, because they go by in a flash. Man, were they right. I can't believe in a month we will be celebrating James' first anniversary on this earth.

I don't have additonal pictures, but I want talk about what James is up to so I won't forget.

James LOVES his Daddy. If I get him out of the bed in the morning, as soon as we are in arms reach of him, James is reaching for Daddy. Jay is such a good Daddy. He is so attentive to James and wants to play with him all the time.

James doesn't have any teeth yet, but somehing makes me want to believe that he is cutting them right now. He hasn't been himself lately and I can see the white in his gums. I full expect to go in to get him one morning and there will be teeth cut through! Stayed tuned for details.

James crawls everywhere! At first he crawled with his leg out to the side. We called it his "gimp leg" crawl. He now pretty much crawls everywhere. The cutest thing he does is when it is time for his bath, I go down the hall to his bathroom and I call his name and crawl so fast down the hall for bathtime! I love it!

James also pulls up on a lot of stuff: his high chair, the diaper box, his exercauser, his daddy's leg...he's all over the place. He hasn't really tried to take any steps or anything yet, butI know it's coming in his future.

James doesn't have a whole lot of words yet. He does say dada A LOT! Jay swears he says Ma Ma too, but I haven't heard it. Even yesterday we were in the grocery store and he pointed to a ballon and said "ba". I consider that progress.

The plans are well under way for James' first birthday. Matter of fact, I ordered the invitations today. I can't wait!

A Quick Trip to New Jersey

This past weekend we made a trip to New Jersey for our Neice, Abigail and our Nephew, Christopher's First Communion. We were also able to celebrate Jay's dad's 70th birthday. It was a very busy that even included a trip to the ER for James. He had a really high fever and we couldn't seem to keep it down and we were well over 24 hours.

Here are some pictures from the weekend.

James and Jay with Uncle Jimmy. Uncle Jimmy is Jay's godfather and one of James' namesakes.

Jay and his Godson, Christopher. (We should have gotten a picture with Uncle Jimmy, Jay and Christopher).

James and Daddy at the church.

All the cousins...from oldest to youngest - Nicholas, J.J., Matthew, Josie, Alexa, Christopher, Abigail and James.

St. Patrick's Day Parade

We decided on Friday to head out to the St. Patrick's Day parade in downtown Jackson on Saturday. Jay knew that his friend, Jamie was out of town, so we called Merideth to see if she wanted to go with us. She did! The good news for us? She had TWO places we could go with a bathroom!!! This is a huge deal in the parade world. We drive over to Madison in the morning to pick her up and head downtown before the traffic gets bad. We land a place to park and she leads us to party local. OH MY - what a surprise. The lady lived in an old warehouse that had been re done and he balcony overlooked the parade route. Are you kidding me??? This was the fat hook up! Again, pics taken with my phone.

Our friend Drake with James

All smiles ready for the parade!

James is 9 Months Old

Dear James,

You are 9 months old! Man, how time has flown. You are 3/4 of a year old! What are you up to these days! You are crawling! How cool is that? Right now, you crawl with one leg out to the side, and you are a little timid, but soon you will be crawling all over the place, I just know it.

You had a great check up at the doctor. You have fallen to the 5% for weight, but the doctor didn't seem too concerned. We got the clearance to start you on whole milk. We plan to do that soon! You are a pretty good eater. You have a 3rd food and cereal in the morning, a fruit and a veggie for lunch and then you wrap up with a 3rd stage veggie with cereal for dinner.

You are taking swim lesson and you are making progress. Taking you to lessons on Thursday is the highlight of my week! You will sit on the side of the pool and when I count to 3, you fall forward into the pool. You go underwater like a pro. You slide like a big boy!

We love playing with you and watching you grow. We know the next thing is the walking and then life will NEVER be the same.

Here are some photos of what you have been to over the month. (DISCLAIMER: most of these are taking with my I Phone because my camera is in the shop.)

It snowed!

Nana and Pop-Pop came to visit and we went to Vicksburg!

You started eating puffs!

You went to the park and swung for the first time!

Since my camera was broken, this is the best I got as far as his first crawl.
