A Quick Trip to New Jersey

This past weekend we made a trip to New Jersey for our Neice, Abigail and our Nephew, Christopher's First Communion. We were also able to celebrate Jay's dad's 70th birthday. It was a very busy that even included a trip to the ER for James. He had a really high fever and we couldn't seem to keep it down and we were well over 24 hours.

Here are some pictures from the weekend.

James and Jay with Uncle Jimmy. Uncle Jimmy is Jay's godfather and one of James' namesakes.

Jay and his Godson, Christopher. (We should have gotten a picture with Uncle Jimmy, Jay and Christopher).

James and Daddy at the church.

All the cousins...from oldest to youngest - Nicholas, J.J., Matthew, Josie, Alexa, Christopher, Abigail and James.

Granny Turns 80!

On December 29, my Granny turned 80. She is in pretty good health and still gets around pretty well. She has just started using a cane within the past year. I hope that my health is good and I get around that well when I am 80!

We threw a family party only on Saturday, January 2, so we could get the extended family together.

Sweet cousins playing. Brooklyn and Mary Katherine play with James.

My mom's generation and their spouses at the party.

My generation at the party.

James with his generation.

This is my super sweet cousin, Karen. I always was fascinated with her growing up and I am so excited she got to meet James.

Something else very special happened that day. My cousin, Jennifer left our family the day after she graduated high school, because she was no longer happy with her family. We have eventually all gotten back in touch with her. We really wanted her to come to this party, because we all loved her and missed her. My cousin Ryan went and picked her up and drove her to Columbus and back. During the time she reconciled with her Dad and has agreed to keep in touch and come back to family event. We are thrilled to welcome her back to the family. She got to meet her sister-in-law and nieces for the first time! My grandmother cried and cried and said she really missed her. I think it was the best present we could have gotten for her. Here are a couple of pictures of her with her family.

Holiday Recap

Our holiday was a whirlwind of family and friends! Here's a recap in pictures.

James finally got to meet Aunt Emily. She took us to the airport, so we could fly out to New Jersey!

James took his very first flight from Jackson, MS to Charlotte, NC.

Uncle Joey picked us up from the airport. He had this adorable sign that Alexa and Abby made that said "JAMES"!!

James and all his boy cousins! They boys way out number the girls now.

James got to go our favorite Pizza joint: Palumbo's!!!

We wished JJ a Happy 13th Birthday on Christmas Eve. He's birthday was actually a week or so earlier, but it was fun to get to celebrate with him!

The Pacelli Family on Christmas Day!!!

James with Nana and Pop Pop.

All the Cousins!

Wow, makes me tired to just think about all we did! Next post will be Granny's 80th birthday party and then New Year's Resolutions!

The Countdown has begun....

We are on the countdown for our flight to New Jersey to see our FAMILY! We cannot wait for all our nieces and nephews to meet James and I know they are excited too. Jay and I were just discussing that it has been a year since we have seen them. Because of the pregnancy and birth of James we were not able to visit at our normal time this past year. Judging from the Christmas cards that have arrived we are in for some "BIG" surprises!!!

This weekend has flown by. We have some down and also visited with friends over the weekend. Rob, an old friend from my W days came over to our side of town and had lunch with us at Corner Bakery. He's finally comfortable holding James! Here's a great pic of the two of them!

4 Weeks Old

Yesterday James was four weeks old! Wow, how time flies! I can't believe we have a son. We are so blessed to have a great little boy, who does sleep (sometimes) and is a pretty happy baby, minus the occassional gas. Here is what we have been up to lateley.

This weekend we got to meet Uncle Andy and Aunt Carly. We both traveled to Columbus to meet up. I am so SORRY Aunt Carly - I didn't get a single picture of you with James! I know Mom and Dad did, so I will get some off their camera this weekend.

Just James in his old man onesie. Give that boy a pocket protector!

Believe it or not, it was somewhat cool today and James had his first trip to shopping. We went to Babies R Us, Kohl's and Target! He slept the whole time! I think he's going to be a GREAT shopper! Tonight, because of all the rain, it was cool, realetively speaking of course, so we decided to go on a family walk. Excuse the blurriness of this pic. I thought I could walk and take it at the same time!

Last but not least, I could leave without sharing this pic. I was busy doing some things around the house and this is how I found my favorite boys! Aren't they adorable!

James's First Fourth

Spur of the moment, Jay and I decided to head to my parent's house for the Fourth of July weekend. They are just over two hours away, so I felt like this would be a good first trip for James. He was fantastic! He slept the whole way there and the whole way back.

Traveling with a baby is defenitley different than traveling with just the two of us. We had never folded the pack and play up and that was a project in patience.

Normally, we spend the 4th of July with Jay's family. First, we would go to Vermont and now the family goes to Penslyvania. It's a tradition on the 4th for all of us to get dressed in our Old Navy flag shirts and take a large family picture. I hate we missed the larger picture, but we took our own picture, however, I was so focused on finding James a flag onsie that I forgot to get one for Jay and I! Ooops! None the less, here is our 4th of July family picture. Maybe we can photoshop us into the bigger group picture! :)

This weekend was also exciting for James because he got to meet his Granny (great grandmother). This was also very special for me, because I am very close to my Granny. We were able to get a 4 generation picture as well.

Father's Day

We were so blessed to celebrate Jay's first Father's Day on Sunday. Here is a pic of the father/son.

I am also very thankful and appreciative of the other Father's in my life. My dad, who did so much to help us get ready for little James' arrival. Also, my father-in-law, better known as Pop-Pop.

35 Week Update

When did you find out you were pregnant?
October 17, 2008

Was it planned?
No, not at all. However,

What was your first reaction?
OMG, I AM pregnant. I can't drink at my friend's wedding this weekend and then holy cow!!

Who was with you when you found out?
No one initially, then I came out of the bathroom and told Jay!

Who was the first person you told?
Jay of course!

How did your parents react?
They were both surprised and excited!

What was your first symptom?
Well, missing my period. My boobs were sore, but I had written it off as PMS.

How much weight have you gained?
Not even 20 yet!

Do you have stretch marks?
None!

Natural or medicated birth?
After finding out more about the epidural tonight in birthing class, I think I am going to go natural.

Who will be in the delivery room with you?
Jay sure and maybe my mom and dad.

Will you breastfeed?
Absolutely.

Do you think you'll need a c-section?
I hope not. So far, so good on the reasons to have a c-section.

Will you cry when you hold the baby for the first time?
Maybe, but I think it will be a combination of emotions.

What's the first thing you might say to him/her?
"You're finally here"

Would you let someone videotape the birth?
Yes, from the head, but its not allowed at my hospital.

Are you excited about the birth, or scared?
Excited and nervous about all the unknowns.

How much does your baby weigh right now?
At 32 weeks he weighed 4 lbs. 3 oz., but I am sure he's more now!

What do you think she will look like?
No idea really! The only thing I think is that he will have a a head full of black hair!

What do you want to do that you couldn’t do throughout pregnancy?
Drink a beer - can't do that though, because I'll be breasfeeding!

What will you miss about pregnancy?
Feeling him move and having him all to myself!

What will you not miss about pregnancy?
uncomfortable sleeping

What is different about this pregnancy than your last?
No previous pregnancy!

What is the same as your last pregnancy?

Any cravings?
Nothing strange, it's just been random things. Little chocolate donuts, cookies and cream ice cream, hot fudge sundae's from McDonald's, pasta, cocoa pebbles.

Who do you think is next to get pregnant out of the people you know?
No idea! I know so many pregnant people!

How many kids do you want?
2 would be ideal, don't want 1 to be spoiled. however, we are blessed to be having one!

When will you try to have another baby?
Probably wait a little while, but I don't want to be "advanced maternal age"

What are you most excited about?
Watching Jay meet his son for the first time.

Where will this baby be born?
Flowood,MS at The Suites.

What do you think your baby will weigh and measure at birth?
I think right around 8 lbs. Length, not sure sure!
Just want him to be healthy!

D is for Daddy

This is my favorite picture of my Daddy. He loves his motorcycle and all things cars and garage. He is getting ready to retire soon and I am so excited for him. I am hoping that he will be able to help us get ready for the baby, painting, putting together all the furniture and whatever else is included. Daddy is going to be a great granddad too!

When Puff Daddy the rapper was big, back in the late 90's I started calling Daddy Puff Daddy, because of his puffy stomach. He loves it and really likes for me to call him Puff (he even signs cards that way). He has decided that he wants his grandfather name to be Puffy. I tried to explain that there will never be a Hallmark card that says, Happy Birthday Puffy. But if that's what he wants, then so be it!

Love you Puffy!

The InLaws Are Coming

The InLaws are coming! That's right Mom and Dad Pacelli are flying in Friday night to see us for the first time since we have been married! We have been married for three years! I am very excited for them to see our house. I hired a maid to come in and doing some of the big cleaning. I am very thankful that I did that since I had the big change at work this week. I don't think I could have emotionaly handled trying to get my house ready and make plans to be out of town for the next six weeks.

I am hoping that it will cool off again soon. My weather.com thing said it was 90 degrees today. Its October 18th for goodness sake!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY - 62!!!!
