A Visit to Little Rock
I just got back from Little Rock, Arkansas and the annual SACAC conference. Little Rock is such a neat city. Its not what I expected, a little smaller in fact, but very southern though.
During the conference I got to attend many session and learn from my colleagues on
"both sides of the desk." This is truly an organization that I beleive in want to be more involved in. As time goes by and I get deeper in the profession, I am sure I will have my chance.
The social was held at the Clinton Presidential Library, which was a pretty darn cool place. They had an exact replica of the presidential limo that is pure STEEL. It weight 12,500 pounds. The most amazing part was all the stuff that had kept over the years. The state gifts, the way the oval office was arranged. It was amazing detailed work.
I am super pumped about being selected for Dry Run Faculty. Dry Run is held each year as a "boot camp" of sorts for new admissions counselors. This year it is being help at Vandy in Nashville. I was able to meet several of the other faculty members during a small gathering time at SACAC. I can't wait for July.
It's getting late, so I need to get in bed.
