Seattle Day 1 & 2

Wow! What a whirlwind the past two day have been. I just got home from a Mariner's game and I am exhasuted, but I wanted to document these past couple of days before time gets away from me.

Day 1 - Monday

Woke up at the BACD here, which was like 8:30 at home, so I went and had a great workout. After getting ready, I decided to go out and explore the city some. I am staying very close to the Space Needle, so that was my first stop. Then I rode the monorail into downtown to find where my conference is going to be. The best part is, one of my college roommates just moved to Portland and she came up to spend the day with me! Bethany and Gabe just moved West for new jobs in bigger markets (they are in television). Bethany and I were able to explore the city. Here are some of our pics from the day.

Down to the Market (and there is way more than fish here!!!)

Day 2
Most of Day 2 was spent in the Admissions Middle Managment Institute (which is the main reason I am here). After the day, we went to the game. Here is a pic of the view from our $5 scalped tickets.

Couple of Random Facts about the trip thus far:
1. I have ridden in taxes more today than in my whole life!
2. I have walked over 10 miles so far! My dogs are barking, so I am signing off!

Welcome to Seattle

This week I will be in Seattle for the annual National Association of College Admissions Counseling conference. After a long flight up, today, I am going to see a few things before I get to work tonight with a college fair. Tomorrow I will be attending a two day workshop composed of people like me :)

Here is my first picture. I can see the Space Needle from my room, complete with clouds (wouldn't be Seattle without a threat of rain, I hear). Check back, as I will try to post some pics and a recap of the day!

Busy Times

Wow! Now that school is back in session, things are crazy at our house. Jay has begun his 5 week long fall season and with two teams, things get really crazy! Certain days he is practicing for 5 hours straight! Also, hurricane Gustav held up his first week of practice.

Speaking of Gustav, that hurricane poured rain on us for a solid week! It wasn't raining every minute of every day, but I don't think I ever took off my rain jacket! I also just left my rainboots under my desk, because I never knew when I might need them.

Things are great at Millsaps! The recruiters went out this week to start meeting and greeting their schools, the fairs and things kick off this week big time! This week is the big week of Jackson fairs, so I will be helping Stacy out with those! I am looking forward to not having my own territory, but being able to go out and meet lots of different people!

On a closing note, we finally won the Backyard Brawl last night! I am so fired up about that. There were soooo many people there! The final score was 42 to 6!! GO MAJORS! Bring on the SCAC!
